Taken from an old Scots word meaning 'excitable' or 'crazy', six-piece trad outfit HEISK are a force on stage. Accordion, fiddle, electro harp, kit and keys, big energy and bold riffs - they twist traditional and self-penned tunes into something fresh and fierce.
Their party vibe lights up festival crowds with a fearless blend of trad roots, funk grooves and pop hooks: music made to empower and get people moving.
The band sparked into life after a late-night session at the Celtic Connections Festival Club, when the founding members set out to celebrate great women musicians - rhythm, energy and empowerment at the core.
