FilmG Awards

Some weeks, the news writes itself. Two of our own came away from this year's FilmG awards with four wins between them, and we could not be prouder.

FilmG is MG ALBA's Gaelic short film competition, and it has become one of the most important platforms for new Gaelic filmmaking talent. Seeing two people we work with recognised on that stage, in the same year, makes us so proud!

Limonead - FilmG Choice Award

Limonead, who we manage here at The Bothy Society, won the FilmG Choice Award for her video for the single 'Nach Buidhe Dhut'. Anyone who has seen the video will know exactly why - it is completely her: bold, playful, and unmistakably Gaelic without ever feeling like it is ticking a box.

Amber - Best Film, Factual, and Filmmaker

Amber, who works on our sync catalogue, took home three awards - Best Film, Factual, and Filmmaker - for 'Ceartas', a short film about a group of Gaelic activists in the 1980s who repainted English road signs in Gaelic. It is a brilliant piece of storytelling about language, protest, and the people who refused to let Gaelic be painted over. Three awards for one film says it all.
