The Last Light is on the SAY Award longlist

The Scottish Album of the Year Award longlist was announced on 24 September, and The Last Light by Valtos is on it.

The SAY Award is Scotland’s national prize for albums, run by the Scottish Music Industry Association in association with Fettercairn. Twenty records make the longlist each year, drawn from everything released by Scottish artists in the eligibility window. This year’s list runs from Biffy Clyro to Boards of Canada, which is good company for a record built on Gaelic melodies and electronics by two producers from Skye.

The Last Light came out in April on Island Life Records. Dan and Martyn launched it with a sold-out night at the Barrowland Ballroom, and the album tour is coming up in December.

Congratulations to Dan, to Martyn, and to everyone who played on and worked on The Last Light. A word too for Sian, whose album Araon is on the same longlist - Eilidh is a big part of our team, and it’ll come as no surprise how much we love this record.

The shortlist comes next week.
